Obverse description The obverse features a mirror-polished dark field with a relief map of unified Germany in the centre, overlaid by two coin effigies side by side: a West German 1 Deutsche Mark 1990 and an East German 1 Mark 1990, each depicted with oak-branch flanking and their respective denominations in relief. The legend DEUTSCHE EINHEIT arcs along the upper border, WÄHRUNGS-UNION appears in the lower field, and the anniversary dates 1990–2015 run along the bottom, all within a beaded inner border.
