Thomas of Campofregoso held the dogeship twice, the second reign running from 1436 until his capture by Filippo Maria Visconti's forces in 1442 — he was taken prisoner during the Milanese seizure of Genoa and held until his death. Genovini struck under his second administration are distinguished in the CNI by minor die variations across just three recorded specimens, reflecting the disrupted mint activity of a city that changed hands violently at the reign's end.
