背面描述 Central device featuring a plain cross pattée set within a cusped polylobed frame, with trefoil and trilobate pellet ornaments decorating each lobe and the surrounding spandrels, closely mirroring the decorative vocabulary of the obverse. A beaded inner circle encloses the central composition, beyond which the circular legend in Gothic uncial characters invokes the nominal authority of Conrad, King of the Romans, a traditional formulaic inscription retained on Genoese gold coinage as a vestige of imperial sanction.

附加信息

Thomas of Campofregoso seized the dogeship in 1415 after years of factional violence between the Fregoso and Adorno families that had made Genoese governance nearly ungovernable for decades. His first reign lasted until 1421, when he was himself displaced — the same revolving-door instability that defined the republic through much of the fifteenth century. The genovino type had by this point been a monetary fixture of Mediterranean trade for nearly two centuries, its gold standard trusted from the Levant to the Atlantic even as the political authority behind it changed hands with alarming frequency.
