Reverse description Central device featuring a plain cross pattée set within a cusped polylobed frame, with trefoil and trilobate pellet ornaments decorating each lobe and the surrounding spandrels, closely mirroring the decorative vocabulary of the obverse. A beaded inner circle encloses the central composition, beyond which the circular legend in Gothic uncial characters invokes the nominal authority of Conrad, King of the Romans, a traditional formulaic inscription retained on Genoese gold coinage as a vestige of imperial sanction.
