Descrizione del dritto	Central design features a stylized castle gateway rendered within a polylobe frame embellished with alternating rosettes and trefoils, all enclosed by a beaded inner circle. The architectural motif — the emblem of Genoa — is executed in the flat, linear style characteristic of medieval Italian hammered gold coinage. The surrounding annular legend, set in uncial Latin characters, identifies the issuing doge as the eighth holder of that office. The inscription is separated from the central design by the beaded border, lending the composition a formal, heraldic quality.

Informazioni aggiuntive	Nicholas Guarco served as Doge of Genoa from 1378 to 1383, a tenure defined almost entirely by the War of Chioggia against Venice — the last major conflict between the two republics, and one that pushed Genoese finances to their limit. The genovino had been Genoa's prestige gold coinage since the mid-thirteenth century, and issues under individual doges are distinguished in the series primarily by the doge's name rather than by design variation, making reference numbers the only reliable way to attribute them within a collection.
