| Reverse description | Central field bears a plain cross pattée set within a quadrilobe frame, each lobe adorned with trefoil rosettes and decorative pellets in a style consistent with Genoese medieval coinage conventions. The cross is rendered in flat relief against a smooth field, its equal arms characteristic of the Genovino type. A circular legend in Gothic uncial script runs along the coin's periphery between a beaded inner border and the flan edge, invoking the name and title of Conrad, king of the Romans, a traditional imperial formula retained on Genoese gold coinage long after the reign of the historical Conrad. A mintmaster's letter appears at the close of the reverse legend, serving as a die-control mark. |
