Reverse description A cross pattée occupies the centre of the design, set within a polylobed inner border richly decorated with trefoils and rosettes, evoking the ornate Gothic aesthetic of 14th-century Genoese goldsmithing. The arms of the cross extend to the lobes of the inner frame, creating a harmonious integration of heraldic and decorative elements. A circular legend in Latin uncial script surrounds the composition, invoking the authority of Conrad, King of the Romans, a traditional legitimising formula retained by the Republic of Genoa on its gold coinage. The legend terminates with the letter R, identifying the mint official responsible for this emission.
