Obverse description High-relief uniformed bust of General von Linsingen facing slightly right, wearing a military tunic with epaulettes. The legend arcs along the left and right fields reading GENERAL and V. LINSINGEN respectively. The engraver's signature L.CHR. LAUER NUERNBERG appears in small lettering at the lower right of the bust.

Reverse description A fully armoured medieval knight on horseback, advancing to the left with sword extended and an eagle-emblazoned shield on his chest. The date 1914 appears in the upper right field, and the motto GOTT MIT UNS! is inscribed in the exergue below a ground line.
