(Translation: Jost of Silinen, Bishop of Sion.)
Reverse description A bold cross fleury occupies the central field, its four arms terminating in trefoil fleurs, set within a beaded inner circle. The cross is rendered in the Gothic decorative style characteristic of late medieval Swiss episcopal coinage. A circular Latin legend runs along the outer border, asserting the bishop's comital title over Valais. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, consistent with hand-struck small silver of the period.
