| Reverse description | A floriated cross pattée with flared terminals occupies the central field, its four arms separated by four pellets or annulets arranged in the inter-quarters, creating a symmetrical ornamental composition. The entire central motif is enclosed within a plain inner circle. The circumferential legend + BERCHT ∙ D ∙ ZERI ∙ CON, referencing the mint or civic authority, runs around the periphery and is bounded by a beaded outer border. The design is struck in the late Gothic decorative tradition typical of Bernese hammered gold issues of the first half of the 16th century. |
