Obverse description The conjoined arms of Denmark (at left) and Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg (at right) are displayed side by side beneath a royal crown. The surrounding circular legend reads CHRISTIAN FREDERIC CAROLINE AMELIE, identifying the Prince and Princess of Denmark. The engraver's name TIOLIER appears in the field, attesting to the work of Nicolas-Pierre Tiolier, Chief Engraver of the Paris Mint. The heraldic composition is rendered in a refined neoclassical style consistent with early nineteenth-century French medallic art.
