Reverse description An ornate floriated cross with trefoil terminals at each arm occupies the center of the coin, enclosed within a cusped quatrefoil frame formed by four curved lobes. Small decorative floral motifs fill the spandrels between the arms of the cross and the quatrefoil. The entire composition is rendered in high relief in the Gothic style typical of 14th-century French ecclesiastical coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the quatrefoil, separated from the design by a beaded inner border.
