背面描述 A bold cross fleurée with a central pellet-in-rosette motif at the intersection, dividing the field into four quarters each bearing a crown in the angles. The entire composition is enclosed within an angled tetralobe frame, with fleurs-de-lis occupying the outer spandrels between the lobes. The peripheral legend in uncial characters encircles the design, invoking the traditional Frankish royal formula.

附加信息

Louis I of Anjou was invested with Provence in 1382 following the death of Queen Joanna I, who had adopted him as her heir specifically to keep the county from falling to Charles of Durazzo. He died in September 1384 at Bisceglie in southern Italy, still fighting to claim the Neapolitan throne she had also bequeathed him, which brackets this issue tightly to those two years of contested authority.

The franc-à-pied type was a direct adaptation of Valois royal coinage, a deliberate signal of legitimacy from a count who was simultaneously pressing dynastic claims in two directions at once.
