Obverse description Crudely struck hammered copper flan displaying three lines of Arabic inscription in Kufic script arranged horizontally across the field, separated by plain linear dividers. The central field bears the shahada in two lines, reading 'There is no god but God / Muhammad is the Messenger of God,' with the ruler's name al-Mundhir appearing in the lower register. The legends are characteristic of Taifa-period provincial coinage, exhibiting the abbreviated epigraphic style common to the fractional issues of al-Andalus in the early 5th century AH. The flan is irregular and slightly chipped at the edges, consistent with the hammered production technique employed at the Zaragoza mint during this period.
