| Beschrijving voorzijde | Hammered fractional silver dirham of irregular flan, displaying multiple concentric lines of Kufic Arabic legend in the central field, arranged in horizontal registers. The inscription is enclosed within a single circular border, the whole executed in the characteristic flat-relief style of Abbasid-era provincial coinage. The legend reads the Shahada and mint formula, attesting to the coin's issue at Basra in AH 273. The flan is clipped and irregular, typical of fractional denominations of this period. |
