Additional information

The Banu Mismar were a minor Arab dynasty operating in the fractured political geography of ninth-century Jibal, their authority sandwiched between the competing pressures of Abbasid governors and local strongmen. Fractional silver of this type was produced in small quantities to facilitate low-value transactions in regional markets where full dirhams were too valuable for everyday exchange.

A#F1166 is a sparsely documented type. The 1.10g weight places it well below the standard Abbasid dirham norm, consistent with deliberate fractional production rather than clipping.
