Obverse description Central field bears the Shahada (Islamic profession of faith) inscribed in two horizontal lines of Arabic Kufic script. A small star ornament appears in the lower field beneath the inscription. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, consistent with hammered Andalusian fractional coinage of the taifa period. The overall die execution is typical of the late Toledo mint production under Al-Qadir.
