The legends are contained within a plain inner circle surrounded by a beaded border. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, characteristic of hammered fractional gold coinage of the Maghreb. The overall style is consistent with North African Fatimid-influenced epigraphic coinage of the mid-fifth century AH.
