附加信息	Amadeus VIII inherited the county at age nine following his father's death at the Battle of Saint-Gothard in 1391, ruling first under regency. The fort — a small silver denomination that took its name from the fortis of earlier Savoyard issues — was the workhorse coin of his early reign, circulating through Alpine toll routes and market towns before Amadeus began his systematic territorial consolidation. In 1416, Sigismund elevated Savoy to a duchy, ending the period this type covers. Amadeus later abdicated in 1434 to found a hermit community at Ripaille, only to be elected antipope Felix V in 1439 — the last antipope in Western history.
