| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized castle or tower motif flanked by small rosette or mullet ornaments, rendered in a bold, primitive hammered style characteristic of mid-14th century Savoyard coinage. The device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters reads COmES DE SABAVDIE (Count of Savoy), running along the outer periphery of the flan. The coin's irregular flan shows typical characteristics of hand-struck medieval silver, with uneven edges resulting from the hammering process. |
