Obverse description Central field displays a quartered shield bearing the Hungarian Árpád stripes in the first and fourth quarters, a double-headed eagle in the second quarter, and a patriarchal (double-barred) cross in the third quarter, all within a beaded inner circle. The mint mark BP. and fineness mark .999 appear below the shield at the top of the inner circle. A Gothic blackletter legend surrounds the design within the outer border.
