| Beschrijving keerzijde | The emperor is depicted in military dress striding to the right, holding an upright labarum (Chi-Rho standard) in his right hand while dragging a kneeling captive by the hair with his left hand. The composition conveys Roman imperial triumph over barbarian enemies, a standard iconographic type of the late fourth century. The reverse legend GLORIA ROMANORVM ('Glory of the Romans') is distributed in the field around the central figure. The exergue carries the mint mark TES (Thessalonica) accompanied by officina and type indicators. A star or dot appears as a field mark between the divided legend elements. |
