| Reverse description | Two emperors, identified as Honorius and Theodosius II, stand facing one another in a symmetrical composition, their heads turned slightly inward toward each other. Each figure holds a spear in his outer hand while resting his inner hand upon a shield, conveying a shared martial authority and dynastic unity. The emperor depicted to the right is rendered slightly shorter, a convention used to distinguish the two co-rulers. The reverse legend GLORIA ROMANORVM, meaning 'Glory of the Romans,' is distributed across the field, affirming the ideological programme of the joint reign. The mint mark in the exergue identifies the Thessalonica mint and its officina. |
