Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Theodosius I facing right, rendered in the late Roman imperial style characteristic of the Theodosian period. The pearl diadem is visible atop the head, and the paludamentum is fastened at the right shoulder, with the cuirass beneath. The encircling Latin legend reads D N THEODOSIVS P F AVG, positioned along the outer border of the coin field. The portrait displays the stylized yet authoritative facial treatment typical of late fourth-century Roman bronze coinage.
