| Obverse description | Facing frontal bust of Saint Peter, depicted in Byzantine style, wearing a turban-like head covering characteristic of this second type. The saint is shown draped, holding a patriarchal cross to one side and a sword, with long beard rendered in stylized relief. A circular Greek legend surrounds the central effigy, invoking divine aid for the ruler Tancred. The die-cutting reflects the hybrid Crusader-Byzantine artistic tradition of the Antiochene mint. |
