Obverse description Full-length facing figure of Saint Peter, depicted standing in tunic and cloak, his right hand raised in a gesture of benediction and his left hand holding a long cross-staff. The saint's head is rendered in low relief at the top of the flan. The inscription PETRVS appears in the field, identifying the apostle. The style is characteristic of Crusader hammered coinage, with bold but somewhat crude workmanship typical of the Antiochene mint in the early 12th century.
