Maximinus II's GENIO EXERCITVS issues from Antioch belong to a politically charged moment: following the death of Galerius in 311, Maximinus immediately marched his troops into Asia Minor in defiance of the territorial agreement he had made with Licinius, hungry to absorb Galerius's eastern holdings.
