| Beschrijving voorzijde | Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Marcian facing right, rendered in the late antique style characteristic of fifth-century Eastern Roman coinage. The effigy displays a string of pearls forming the diadem, with the paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The surrounding field carries the Latin imperial titulature legend DN MARCIANVS PF AVG, partially legible on this heavily patinated example. The flan is small and irregular, as typical of nummi of this denomination and period. |
