Obverse description No legend. Two enthroned emperors seated facing on a double throne: Leo IV to the left and Constantine VI to the right, each wearing an imperial crown and chlamys. A cross appears between their heads in the upper field. The figures are rendered in the flat, hieratic style characteristic of eighth-century Byzantine coinage struck at Syracuse.
