The legend DN HONORIVS PF AVG (Dominus Noster Honorius Pius Felix Augustus) runs around the circumference. The portrait displays the youthful features associated with Honorius, who acceded as a child emperor. The flan is small and irregular, typical of the reduced AE4 coinage of the late fourth century. Surface patination obscures some detail but the imperial effigy remains identifiable. |
