Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Diocletianus facing right, rendered with fine engraving detail showing a bearded portrait with strong, individualized features typical of Tetrarchic portraiture. The laureate wreath is boldly rendered with prominent leaves projecting from the brow. The surrounding Latin legend reads IMP DIOCLETIANVS PF AVG, running clockwise along the coin's border, which is framed by a beaded rim. The bust truncation is visible at the lower field, and the overall style reflects the vigorous, somewhat abstracted portraiture characteristic of the Diocletianic reform coinage.

Reverse description The personification of Moneta stands facing left in a dignified pose, holding a pair of scales in her extended right hand and a cornucopiae in her left, emblematic of equitable measure and abundance. She is depicted in classical robes rendered in the stylized manner of Tetrarchic reverse types. The reverse legend SACRA MONET AVGG ET CAESS NOSTR encircles the figure, proclaiming the sacred nature of the imperial coinage under the Augusts and Caesars of the Tetrarchy. The mintmark, denoting the Aquileia mint and its officina, appears in the exergue below the figure.
