| Obverse description | Bare-headed, cuirassed bust of Decentius facing right, rendered in the late Roman military portrait style. The effigy displays close-cropped hair with short locks across the forehead, and the cuirass is visible at the shoulder with detailed engraving of straps and studs. The legend D N DECENTIVS NOB CAES runs clockwise around the periphery in Latin capitals. The portrait conveys a youthful, authoritative image consistent with Decentius's role as Caesar under the usurper Magnentius. The field is relatively plain, with the bust occupying the central area of the flan. |
