Reverse description Two Victories stand facing one another in the field, their wings spread, jointly supporting a large wreath between them. Within the wreath, the votive inscription VOT V MVL X is displayed in four lines, commemorating the fifth vow and anticipating the tenth. In the lower centre of the field, the control mark C over IS appears, with the mintmark SAR in the exergue, attributing the issue to the mint of Arelate (modern Arles). The composition is characteristic of the propagandistic reverse types employed by Magnentius and Decentius to assert dynastic legitimacy.
