Additional information

The FEL TEMP REPARATIO "falling horseman" series was produced across virtually every mint in the empire following the usurpation and death of Magnentius in 353, functioning as much as a propaganda exercise for Constantius II's reunified rule as a practical currency issue. The Arelate mint — modern Arles — had briefly operated under Magnentius himself, making its rapid return to Constantinian production a pointed political statement. The D officina mark places this piece in the fourth workshop of that facility.
