The effigy is rendered in the tetrarchic style, with a strongly geometric treatment of the facial features characteristic of the Diocletianic period. The reverse legend SACRA MONET AVGG ET CAESS NOSTR, meaning 'The Sacred Coinage of our Augusti and Caesars', encircles the field.
