The mint mark SMKΔ appears in the exergue, denoting the fourth officina of the Cyzicus mint (Sacra Moneta Kyzikos). This reverse type with a single standard between two soldiers is characteristic of the reduced follis coinage issued following the monetary reforms of the mid-fourth century. |
