| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two Roman soldiers standing facing one another, each helmeted, cloaked, and holding a reversed spear in the outer hand; between them stands a single legionary standard surmounted by a wreath. The composition reflects the late variant of the GLORIA EXERCITVS type, reduced from the earlier two-standard design. The reverse legend GLORIA EXERCITVS, meaning 'Glory of the Army,' encircles the field. The mint mark in the exergue reads PLG or SLG, denoting the officina of the Lugdunum (Lyons) mint. The overall die work is characteristic of the compact, hastily struck small bronze issues of the 346–348 period. |
