Reverse description A bold cross pattee occupies the center of the field, its four flaring arms each terminating in a prominent globule, giving the design a distinctive floriated appearance. Between the arms of the cross, in the four quadrants, are the Greek letters Β, Λ, Δ, and Ν, forming the abbreviated name ΒΑΛΔΝ (Balduin), identifying the issuing count. The design is boldly struck in the heavy Crusader tradition, with the cross nearly filling the flan.
