Obverse description Facing bust of the nimbed Christ in Byzantine style, depicted in high relief at center, with a cruciform halo about the head. The right hand is raised in benediction, while the figure is shown draped about the shoulders. The Christogram IC-XC is inscribed in the fields to either side of the bust, identifying the figure as Jesus Christ. The portrait displays the characteristic flat, frontal treatment of Crusader coinage derived from Byzantine prototypes.
