Obverse description Draped and cuirassed bust of Arcadius facing right, wearing a pearl diadem with pendilia. The emperor's portrait is rendered in the late antique style characteristic of the Theodosian period, with youthful features and elaborate drapery visible at the shoulder. The encircling legend reads D N ARCADIVS P F AVG, distributed around the bust in the field.
