Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Arcadius facing right, depicted in the late Roman imperial style typical of the Theodosian dynasty. The portrait shows the emperor wearing a pearl diadem and military paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. A beaded border encircles the design. The Latin legend DN ARCADIVS PF AVG (Dominus Noster Arcadius Pius Felix Augustus) runs around the periphery of the flan.
