Reverse description A full-length frontal figure of Saint John the Baptist stands in the field, depicted nimbate and robed in a mantle, holding a long patriarchal cross in his left hand. The figure is rendered in the Gothic manner characteristic of mid-14th-century Low Countries goldsmithery, with drapery folds indicated by incised lines. A mintmaster's mark appears at the end of the circumferential Latin legend. A beaded border frames the design, consistent with hammered gold florins of the period.
