| Obverse description | Facing figure of the Virgin Mary (Madonna) seated on a throne, holding the infant Christ on her left knee, within a beaded inner circle. The Virgin is crowned and depicted in a Gothic manner characteristic of late medieval Hungarian florins. The legend WLADISLAVS R VNGARIE runs around the periphery, separated by decorative rosette stops, with the king's name and royal title referencing Vladislaus II of Hungary. The overall design follows the long-established Angevin florin prototype adapted for the Jagiellonian period. |
