正面描述 The Virgin Mary (Madonna) enthroned and facing forward, seated on a crescent, holding the Christ Child in her right arm. The composition is flanked on either side by a slender Gothic pillar, lending an architectural framework to the devotional image. Beneath the enthroned figure appears the Jagiellonian eagle of Poland, referencing the dynastic lineage of Vladislaus II. A circular legend in Gothic uncial characters surrounds the entire design.

附加信息

Vladislaus II came to the Hungarian throne in 1490 after defeating Matthias Corvinus's illegitimate son János in a succession struggle, and his reign marked a sharp reversal of the centralized fiscal discipline Corvinus had maintained. The Hungarian nobility systematically dismantled royal revenue streams, leaving the crown chronically underfunded — yet the gold florin continued to be struck to consistent fineness, since the Kremnica mint operated under arrangements that made it partially independent of the crown's immediate cash position.

Kremnica's output during this period fed trade networks extending into Ottoman-controlled territory as well as westward into the Habsburg sphere, which would absorb Hungary entirely within decades of this issue's close.
