| Obverse description | Saint Peter depicted full-length, standing facing in a niche or inner circle, robed in draped vestments, holding a key in his right hand and a book in his left. A small shield bearing the arms of Saint-Pol appears in the lower field beneath his feet. The figure is rendered in the Gothic style typical of Brabantine hammered gold coinage of the early 15th century. The circular legend in uncial Latin characters runs along the outer border. |
