Obverse description Central field displays the crowned arms of the seven United Provinces of the Dutch Republic arranged in a quartered heraldic shield, surmounted by a royal crown flanked by two rampant lions as supporters. The composite shield incorporates the provincial arms of Holland, Zeeland, Utrecht, Gelderland, Friesland, Overijssel, and Groningen. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition, reading FLOR : ARG : ORD : FÆD : BELG : HOLL, abbreviating Florin Argenteus Ordinum Foederatorum Belgii Hollandiae.
