| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the crowned arms of Friesland — a shield bearing two rampant golden lions passant — set upon an elaborate foliate mantle with scrollwork supporters to either side. The shield is surmounted by a large closed provincial crown with prominent arches and jewelled band. A continuous Latin legend runs along the periphery within a beaded inner border, reading FLORENENVS ARGENT ORDINVM FRISI, identifying the piece as the silver florin of the States of Friesland. |
