| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a full-length frontal figure of Saint Ladislaus (László I, King of Hungary), the royal patron saint, standing erect and crowned, wearing robes and armour, holding a battle-axe or halberd in his right hand and an orb in his left. The figure is rendered in a flat, stylised Gothic manner characteristic of Hungarian gold florins of the Corvinus era. A beaded inner circle frames the central effigy. The surrounding legend in Gothic uncial reads S LADISLAVS REX, identifying the figure as King Saint László. The overall composition follows the established Florentine florin iconographic tradition adapted for Hungarian royal coinage. |
