Reverse description A large fleur-de-lis occupies the central field of the reverse, executed in the Florentine tradition adopted across Aragonese coinage. To the lower left, a small heraldic shield bearing a checkered pattern is visible as a mint or issuer mark. To the lower right, a scallop shell device appears as a secondary mark. A Latin peripheral legend reads ARAGO REX MAR, abbreviated for Aragonum Rex Majoricensis, identifying the issuing authority. The flan edges are irregular and the strike shows typical characteristics of hand-hammered medieval gold.
