Additional information

Fernando I of Aragon — Fernando II of Majorca — came to the throne through the Compromise of Caspe in 1412, a tribunal decision that ended a succession crisis following the extinction of the direct Barcelonan line. His Majorcan florins follow the Aragonese florin standard, which had been anchored to the Florentine model since Alfonso IV introduced the denomination to the Crown of Aragon in 1346. Fernando's reign lasted only four years before his death in 1416, making issues attributable to this window genuinely short-series pieces.
